The event celebrated the renewal and 10th anniversary of the CREEi, highlighting its contributions to the study of intergenerational dynamics. A retrospective of achievements, a panel discussion on public policies, and a convivial reception marked this memorable day.
The event was organized as part of the launch of a new research project, “Le Québec des bâtisseurs”, and the unveiling of three initial studies. This work shed light on entrepreneurship in the Quebec economy, and more specifically the history of Quebec’s great entrepreneurs, the role of education in entrepreneurship and the place of Francophones.
The colloquium addressed topics concerning monetary policy and economic growth in Quebec, discussing changes in targets, the role of public policies, and incorporating feedback from speakers and the audience. Further informations availaible on CREEi’s website.
This event offered a unique blend of cutting-edge political and academic perspectives, shedding light on one of the most pressing challenges of our time. It featured nine presentations covering a wide range of topics related to inequalities and poverty, spanning empirical, theoretical, and quantitative approaches.
This workshop, organized by Raquel Fonseca (ESG-UQAM and CIRANO) and Marie-Louise Leroux (ESG-UQAM and CIRANO), was on research related to the economic challenges of demographic inequalities. The presentations were related to gender inequalities, intergenerational inequalities, income and wealth inequalities, and health inequalities.

In collaboration with the CIRANO, the Chair is organizing a workshop entitled Facing Demographic Change in a Challenging Economic Environment. The event will bring together speakers from North America and overseas, invited by professors Hafedh Bouakez (HEC Montréal), Raquel Fonseca (ESG UQAM) and Kevin Moran (Université Laval).
The focus of the workshop is new research, both theoretical and applied, focusing on markets where frictions, broadly defined, are present, such as e.g. labor market or product markets to name a few.
Around the world, the economic conditions of the elderly are changing rapidly. On one hand, we are seeing the new elderly reach retirement with significant financial assets, in particular among households where both spouses have extensive labor market experience.
