October 2025 - Artificial Intelligence and its Challenges for Society

The Research Chair in Intergenerational Economics (CREEi) sponsored a conference organized by ESG UQAM on the economic and social impacts of artificial intelligence. Daron Acemoglu (MIT) and Yoshua Bengio (Mila) discussed the risks and opportunities of AI, particularly regarding employment, productivity, energy demand, and the concentration of technological power.
